Bridge crash slows U.S. 31 N

A car crash on the bridge over the Grand River occurred at about 9:50 a.m. Friday.

Officers from the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety and Spring Lake/Ferrysburg Police Department and Ferrysburg firefighters responded to the crash, as well as a NOCH ambulance.

Officers huddled around a crumpled car, assisting the motorist from within to an awaiting ambulance.

Traffic on and leading up to the bridge of U.S. 31 northbound stopped, backed up, and then slowly were able to navigate safely over the bridge as emergency crews cleared the scene.

People seem to drive too fast or too slow on this stretch and if you have trouble there is nowhere to go so a member of the wild bunch just drives into your trunk.
