The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department said the incident occurred Monday after the woman got off a bus in Ypsilanti Township.

Police said she told investigators that the men expressed anti-gay slurs, and punched and kicked her.

The woman was married to her female partner March 22 during a brief window when Michigan's gay marriage ban was struck down and same-sex marriage was allowed. A federal court has suspended that decision.

I'm guessing those three "cowards" would be considered a no vote in the upcoming. I hope they catch them and I would volunteer to kick crap out of them, shouldn't be a difficult task; 3 men beating a woman for crying out loud. I hope she will suffer no lasting physical affects from this, certainly will mess with the psyche though.
I’m not in favor of the particular life style that this woman practices but this unprovoked display of hostility certainly isn’t the way to accomplish anything. What a society we have created, in what should have been a wonderful world; very sad.

Don't be so naïve. Consider the source of this article and the brevity of its content during a time of heated debate with this issue.
Beware of the Government media complex.

You can't help but have Tawanna Brawley and the Duke Lacrosse team in the back of your mind in a situation like this. To showcase or amplify a point regarding racism in order to pass legislation or as an act of a racism or a shakedown…but this case looks oddly similar and the timing couldn’t be more telling if this is a setup…if it is legit then blame the media for jumping on the their guilty bandwagons with no real facts to go by for people to at first ask for a pound of flesh and then step back and become suspicious.

I agree, or the waitress who supposedly was not left a tip because she was gay.. remember that turned out to be a lie? Or Matthew Sheperd being murdered only because he was gay, which turned out to be a drug deal gone bad, he just happened to be gay too. Or the smear campaign against Elane Photography over taking pictures at gay weddings.(The proprietors of Elane Photography do NOT have a problem with rendering photographic services for gay persons, just with photographing activities which they consider sinful and offensive to the conscience, including nude photo shoots.) I am not saying this persons story is a lie, and if it is true, I hope they find these individuals and punish them, but I am suspect of these politically motivated news articles too.
