The Eagles, who are currently ranked No. 8 in Division 1, had never lost to the Buccaneers during coach Tom Vruggink’s 33 years at the school.

An RBI single by Kylie Masko in the fourth inning proved to be the winner, as pitcher Kaylee Hartwell and the Buc's defense controlled the majority of the game. After the first inning, no Eagles’ baserunner made it past first base.

"Our defense was amazing again today,” said coach Paul Masko. “Our girls really proved they can play all seven innings with the best of them."

The big inning for the Bucs came in the fourth, when two errors started a small rally that ended with an Audrey Boersen ground out. The play scored Hartwell and Masko, and the Bucs secured the lead for good when Masko’s single scored Katelyn Messer.

Hartwell pitched a complete game to earn the victory. She gave up just one walk and four base hits on the day. Morgan Hill went 2-for-3
 at the plate.
