Alexys Riksen’s hat trick guided Western Michigan Christian past Tri-Unity Christian, 8-1.
The Warriors, now 11-1-1, finished the year unbeaten in River Valley Conference play at 8-0.
Brea Frein scored twice for WMC, while Maria Michael, Christa Housekamp and Jessica Kinnucan added single goals.
Ellie Gilson, Frein, Kinnucan and Riksen each added an assist, while Lindsey Johnson earned the win in goal.
“This was a good way to finish the conference,” said coach David Hulings. “We started off a little rusty and shaky, somehow losing our focus and quick play. It was nice to get that corrected and see the girls respond to coaching the way they did.
“Brea Frein played so well up top and eared a lot of respect from players and coaches.”
This weekend, the Warriors travel to Chicago for their annual service trip, where they’ll pack meals to be distributed in third world countries. They’ll also catch a Chicago Fire game before returning to West Michigan.
