Soccer roundup: WMC girls make annual trip to Chicago

The WMC soccer team and their coaches visited Chicago this weekend.

On Saturday, the girls packed 104 boxes of food at “Feed My Starving Children.”  The non-profit Christian organization will send the food to Uganda.

On Sunday, the team watched the MLS’s Chicago Fire defeat Sporting KC, 2-1, before returning home.

Haven-Holland tie

The Grand Haven and Holland soccer teams ended in a tie, on Saturday, 0-0.

Grand Haven outshot Holland 17-3 in the contest, but was unable to find the back of then. Alanna Kenny had one save for the Buccaneers.

Fruitport falls to Puffer

Visiting Reeths-Puffer defeated Fruitport in non-league action on Saturday, 3-1. The Trojans outshot the Rockets 11-10. Lauren Maus scored the lone goal for Fruitport. Monica Holden had six saves in net.
