Haven girls lacrosse to host regional action

Bucs to face FHC on Friday evening

The Buccaneers’ girls varsity lacrosse team will host Forest Hills Central in the opening round of the Division 1 regional tournament on Friday.

That contest begins at 5 p.m. and will be followed by Portage Northern and Midland Dow at 7:15 p.m.

The regional semifinals will be held next Tuesday, with the regional championship game at Grand Haven next Friday.

The Buccaneers have had a fantastic season thus far. Grand Haven is 12-2 on the year, with both losses coming to Grand Rapids Christian. FHC has struggled to a 3-11 record this spring.

Several Grand Haven players were honored with all-conference recognition. Juniors Anna Gagnon, Emily Betten and Claire Reenders each earned first-team all-conference honors, as did sophomore Courtney Hylok

Olivia Saber and Katie Harding were honorable mentions.
