A.J. Dahman scored a hat trick to lead Grand Haven’s varsity boys lacrosse team to an 8-6 win over Holt on Tuesday.

The victory came in the semifinal round of the Division 1 regional tournament and propelled the Bucs into Friday’s regional championship game against No. 1-ranked Forest Hills Northern. That game will take place at Grandville.

Curtis Pek scored twice for the Buccaneers, while Sawyer Curtiss, Ryan Maguire and Trevor McNamara added single goals. Freshman goalie Gabe Liebetreau continued to come up big for the Bucs, making eight stops.

"This is our sixth win in a row," said Bucs' coach Murle Greer. "It feels good to be on a hot streak. Our defense played outstanding tonight causing turnovers and transitioning the ball to offense. A.J. Dahlman had his best game of the year. He has really progressed through the season. We were down 3-1 early but came showed alot of heart and mental toughness and had the lead going into the half."

Grand Haven lost to FHN back on April 24, 19-5.
