Twelve members of the Muskegon Lakeshore Figure Skating Club competed at the Grand Rapids Open earlier this month, and three local skaters brought home gold medals.

Spring Lake’s Inez Allard, 10, won two first-place medals in the Basic 6 level.

Muskegon’s Mackenna Pratt, 8, also earned two first-place medals, competing in the Preliminary Test Track Freestyle and in Pre-Preliminary Compulsory Moves.

Norton Shores’ Andrea Gardner, 14, won gold in the Preliminary Limited Freestyle and also placed first in the Pre-Preliminary Showcase event.

She earned silver for her Pre-Juvenile Cumpulsory Moves.

Her placement in the Showcase event qualified Gardner to compete in the National Showcase 2014 Competition, which takes place in August in Burbank, Ca.
