Grand Haven’s Keegan Findley and Hunter Scharphorn placed second in the Michigan High School State Championship bass fishing competition this past weekend on Lake St. Clair.

The pair weighed in five fish each day, for a total of 18.12 pounds on Day 1 and 15.96 pounds on Day 2 for a total of 34.08 pounds.

They caught their fish with drop shot rigs, jigs, crankbaits, Senkos and tubes.

Their second-place finish qualified them for the National Bassmaster High School Championships in Tennessee, which will be held July 15-19.
