The Grand Haven Triathlon will take place Sunday morning, and traffic will be affected as racers use the roadways. The following is a note from race director Ron Knoll:

"We wanted to give you the courtesy to inform you that the Grand Haven Triathlon takes place Sunday, July 13. We respectfully ask for your understanding and extra caution while driving on Harbor Drive, Grand Avenue, Sheldon Road and Lakeshore Drive. We also ask for your caution when entering and exiting your driveway. Bicyclists will be on the bike course from 8-10:30 a.m. We sincerely appreciate your courtesy and accommodation.

"This type of event can always use additional volunteers. We can use kayakers on the swim course or assistance on the bike and run courses. Please contact Lisa Highstreet at (616) 502 - 1242 if you, or someone you know, would be able to assist. In addition to the sincere gratitude of the athletes, you’ll receive a Support Staff Shirt, and be invited to the free athlete/volunteer post-race picnic with grilled hamburgers and hot dogs."

In addition, Grand Haven Public Safety released the following statement for those visiting the Grand Haven State Park:
