The Tri-Cities Strikers 3v3 Summer Soccer Classic has had pretty steady participation for several years now, typically ranging between 60 and 65 teams.

A large number of the players that show up to the fields on Harbor Island are familiar faces, and it’s sure to be the same case on Saturday.

“I have never had any negative feedback,” said tournament director Jon Trowbridge. “Usually I get, ‘This was a great tournament, we’re going to come back next year.’ I notice the same teams come back.”

Trowbridge said he was at around 40 teams on Monday, and was expecting an onslaught of signups before today’s deadline. He said that the same thing happened last year, when the tournament jumped from around 40 to 60 entries.

Teams can sign up at tricitiesstrikers.com. Ages range from U-8 all the way to adult.

The tournament serves as a fundraiser for the Strikers travel soccer club, helping make the sport a reality for a larger number of youngsters.
