“First home game you want to put up a good game,” said coach Jeremy Thelen. “They played well, so I’m pretty excited about it.”

Alec Palmer scored the game’s lone goal, with about 15 minutes to play in the first half. It was the junior’s third straight game with a score.

Goalie Joe Czajka had five saves, including one with 50 seconds left to play — preventing overtime.

Thelen credited defenders Bradley Debien, Ben Kramer, Kaden Kendall and Dylan Constantine in helping achieve the shutout.

“We’re returning most of our defense,” Thelen said. “They ‘ve put us in a good position the last couple of games.”

JV: The Lakers defeated the Sailors, 2-1. Ben Henke and Jacob Hewitt booted the two Spring Lake goals.
