Spring Lake’s Emma Conroy shot a two-over-par round of 37 to earn medalist honors at Wednesday’s Lakes Eight Conference jamboree at Muskegon Country Club.
This was the first time in her career that Conroy was the low scorer at an event, according to coach George Bitner.
Anna Kramer, Ginny Olszewski and Jaedyn Shelton each shot a 3-over-par round of 40 for the Lakers, who shot a team score of 159.
Ludington was second with a 210, followed by Fruitport (222), Muskegon Catholic Central (228) and Fremont (229).
“The grouping was pretty good for those top scores,” said coach George Bitner, whose team finished third in the state last year. “When I’m throwing out a 42, we’re doing alright. These girls think they can win state, and I’m not going to tell them they can’t, especially when we’re bunching them up like we are.”
Low scorers for Fruitport were Kelsey Alviar, with a career best 47, followed by Taylor Clark's season best 48.
