“We changed our formation (after falling behind 2-0) and went to a 3-4-3 with three forwards, high pressure, lots of chances,” coach Jeremy Thelen said.
The Lakers made it 2-1 when Katie Smith won the ball on the right side and hit a cross to Morgan Gagnon, whose one-timer found the back of the net.
“It was really cold. It looked like the first game of the season,” Thelen said.
“We showed a lot of promise at the end. If we play like we did at the end of the game throughout the season, we’ll be just fine.”
