Late runs help Trojans’ baseball nip Sailors

Fruitport scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to squeak out a 5-4 baseball victory over visiting Mona Shores on Friday. The Trojans' Mike Reyes led off the bottom of the seventh with a base hit, then moved to second on a sacrifice by Gene Archer. An RBI single by Cody Merkins pushed Reyes across the plate. Later that inning, Kody Schultz singled, stole second and scored on an errant throw to third base. Merkins finished the night 4-for-4 with a pair of RBIs for the Trojans (2-3).
