Second annual Katty Shack 5K is Saturday

The second annual Katty Shack 5K and one mile run/walk will be held Saturday. The 5K race begins 9 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 508 Franklin St., Grand Haven, and takes runners along the Grand River and channel out to Lake Michigan. New this year will be a spaghetti dinner and health and fitness expo at St. Patrick's Family Center, 920 Fulton St., from 4-7 p.m. Friday. The Katty Shack Race is in memory of Katherine Brown and Sharmaine, Jeremy and Tyler Zimmer, victims of the 2008 Wright Township crime that shocked Ottawa County.

All proceeds benefit the Crime Victim Foundation.

The race is open to all ages, with race fee $22, or a discounted family fee of $17.
