Soccer roundup: SL, WMC suffer losses

Spring Lake's varsity girls soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss to Rockford on Thursday. "We came out and played with really good intensity, found our marks quickly and challenged the ball,' Lakers' coach Jeremy Thelen said. "Then they scored a soft goal, we hung our heads, and it was all down hill from there.' Thelen credited Kelsey Kippe, Katie Smith and Katie Miedema with playing well for the Lakers, who play at Newaygo tonight.
