GH girls lacrosse no match for Caledonia

Grand Haven's varsity girls lacrosse team suffered an 18-6 loss at the hands of Caledonia on Monday. The start of the game was delayed by lightning, but the skies cleared and the game was played as scheduled. Grand Haven started out well as Mackenzie Yoas scored the first of her three goals. Caledonia bounced back and soon pulled away from the Bucs thanks to a dangerous offensive attack. "Caledonia is a strong program and we knew we had our work cut out for us,' coach Kim Vincent said.

“We started the game with good energy and got the first goal right away. Caledonia followed with their first goal and the spread continued to grow as our defense broke down.”

Sandi Fredricks added two goals and Mackenzie Klingenberg had one.

Sarah Shaw stopped 12 of the 30 shots she faced.

The Bucs (7-6 overall, 6-4 O-K Rainbow Conference) return to action on Wednesday at Lowell.
