Tennis roundup: GH, EK settle for 4-4 tie

Grand Haven and East Kentwood played to a 4-4 tie in the final O-K Red Conference regular season meet for the Bucs. "The seniors went out of conference matches with a bang,' Grand Haven coach Jaime Oppenlander said. "They played hard and stayed focused through every point.' The Bucs' doubles teams salvaged the tie, as they won three of four flights including Haley Birkett and Paige Reierson at No. 1 (6-2, 6-0); Adi Smith and Meghan Hendrickson at No. 2 (6-4, 6-3); and Jenny Hamilton and Olivia Reed at No. 4 (6-2, 7-6 (1).

The Bucs’ lone singles winner was Andy Rosales at No. 4, who won 6-3, 6-3.

West Ottawa will host the O-K Red Conference tournament on Saturday.
