WMC names Henry new girls basketball coach

One of the most veteran coaches in West Michigan is taking over the reins of the varsity girls basketball team at Western Michigan Christian High School. Mike Henry has already met with next year's Lady Warriors and is busy working on a summer schedule. He coached varsity boys basketball at Muskegon Orchard View from 1971 to 1997. In addition, Henry just recently resigned as assistant varsity football coach at Orchard View, a job he has held since 1971.

He was honored by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association as “Assistant Coach of the Year” in 1998 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2000.
