WMC soccer gets to .500 with shutout win

Western Michigan Christian's varsity girls soccer team shut out host Fremont on Tuesday, 5-0, to even its season record at 8-8. The Warriors wasted no time in setting the tone when freshman Kelly Hoffius sent in the first of three assists to junior Rachel Karsten, who sailed a shot into the upper corner of the Packers' goal just a minute into the game.

WMC continued to knock on Fremont’s door and with just under 20 minutes left in the first half, Bailey Mines and Hoffius combined on an assist to team scoring leader Timera Crosby who laid herself out to reach the ball and punch it into the back of the net to put the Warriors up 2-0 going into the intermission.
