Soccer in the Sand returning to Grand Haven

Soccer in the Sand is returning to Grand Haven for the fifth consecutive year this weekend, bringing a festive atmosphere to the Grand Haven City Beach. "We bring live music to all our events, so that, along with all our unique vending options, makes for a fun day,' said event organizer Chris Lemay. The first Soccer in the Sand visit to Grand Haven drew 20 teams. Lemay expects over 100 teams on Saturday and Sunday, with divisions ranging from 8-and-under to adult coed and men's open.

“With over 100 teams, it’s very safe to say we’ll have over 5,000 people down at the beach for our event alone,” Lemay said. “We’ll have 1,000 and some odd players, plus brothers, sisters, moms and dads.”
