WMC soccer posts shutout; tennis ties Puffer

Two "brothers' combined for three goals and two assists Tuesday night at Warrior Field to help Western Michigan Christian to an opening 4-0 River Valley Conference victory over Covenant Christian. Senior Ryan Briggs started the scoring off an assist from sophomore Chaise Schuiteman with just eight minutes left in the first half to put the Warriors up 1-0 at intermission.

Briggs opened the second half with another goal assisted by Schuiteman and then Schuiteman scored unassisted with 18 minutes left. Briggs is staying with the Schuiteman family in Fremont while his parents are in Africa where they are medical missionaries.
