Spring Lake scored three doubles wins to secure the tie. Nic Parnell and Michael Hartliep won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1; Harrison Palmer and Stuart Velarde were victorious 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2; and Brenden Peel and Craig Pratt won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4.
The Lakers are now 5-2-1 on the season.
SL GOLF WINS JAMBOREE
Spring Lake took fifth at Friday’s Ludington Invitational, but the event also served as the Lakes Eight Conference Jamboree, which the Lakers garnered first-place honors.
In the invitational scoring, the Lakers placed fifth with a score of 404. Powerhouse Mona Shores won the event with a 327, followed by Whitehall’s 359. Elinor Adams tied her best 18-hole performance of her career with a 88, which tied for seventh medalist.
Chezney Peel added a 102, and Tori Kihnke and Ginni Olszewski each carded a 107.
In the jamboree, the Lakers extended their season lead by winning with a team score of 194. Ludinton was runner-up with a 199, while Fruitport was third with a 206.
Spring Lake holds a 49 shot lead entering Tuesday’s home jamboree at Spring Lake Country Club.
