“I feel like I’m expected to do more than I can do. Last year was easier because I had (then-senior) Eryn Gregory in front of me.”
Coach George Bitner said he sees Adams slowly getting used to playing as the favorite in most matches she competes in.
“Elinor, people expect more out of her, but we’ve stayed with her and encouraged her, and she’s overcoming it.”
Despite the pressure she feels, Adams has guided the Lakers to yet another outstanding season. With a victory at Tuesday’s league jamboree, Spring Lake essentially wrapped up its seventh consecutive league championship.
