The No. 6-ranked Bucs placed eight runners in the top 10 against the No. 7-ranked Rams and had 14 runners finish ahead of Muskegon’s No. 1 finisher.
The Bucs’ Claire Borchers was second overall with a time of 19 minutes, 19 seconds. Roxy Glasser ran a fantastic race to place third in 19:24, while Julia Stock placed fourth in 19:27.
In the boys’ race, the Buccaneer boys came up short against the No. 8-ranked Rams, falling 22-37.
Grand Haven’s Ryan Duff took second with a time of 16:32. Schalk Vanniekerk ran to a fourth-place finish in 17:01 despite being sick, and Justin Pippel was seventh at 17:16. Turner Sale placed 11th at 17:48, and Dylan Tarr finished in 18:03. Sam Schurkamp (18:15) and Zach Duff (18:18) rounded out the top seven for Grand Haven.
The Bucs dominated Muskegon at the same meet on Wednesday, 15-48, improving to 4-1 in league action.
