Lakers' volleyball wraps up 2nd place

Spring Lake's varsity volleyball team outlasted Grant in five games on Tuesday to earn a second-place finish in the regular season of the Lakes Eight Conference.

Fruitport finished undefeated in league action and will take the No. 1 seed into the conference tournament on Oct. 29 at Orchard View.
Lakers’ coach Sarah Bulthuis said every game between the Lakers and Tigers was back and forth, but her team dug deep in the end in the 25-17, 23-25, 25-17, 22-25, 15-11 victory.

“We played Grant a week ago in a tournament and lost in two,” Bulthuis said. “After talking about the loss, we were not going to let that happen again."
