That will be the case again in Friday’s district final as the Warriors and Crusaders each won their district semifinal game Wednesday night at Warrior Field in Muskegon.

WMC (15-4-1 overall) will host the Crusaders on Friday at 5 p.m. The winner will advance to regional competition next week at Holton to face the winner of the Traverse City Christian District.

The Warriors defeated Kent City Algoma Christian on Wednesday, 6-1. WMC led 5-0 after the first half as Alex Rop tallied the Warriors’ first goal on a header crossed from Chaise Schuiteman, who finished with a goal and two assists.

WMC’s Ryan Briggs scored a goal and added a pair of assists while Alec Breit, Mitch Landheer and Tim Schuitema each scored goals.

WMC outshot Algoma Christian 17-3 with goalie Jacob Berens posting the win.

Earlier in the evening, Catholic defeated Ravenna, 8-1.
