Weather doesn't dampen WMC soccer at regionals

They had to wait two hours due to thunderstorms, but Western Michigan Christian put in two goals each half, and held Suttons Bay scoreless for a 4-0 win and a trip to Friday night's regional final at 7 p.m. at Holton High School.

“For the first 20 minutes of the game, both teams suffered from being cooped up for (two hours),” WMC coach David Hulings said. “And neither team was used to artificial turf. That hurt both teams.”

Tuesday’s second regional game between McBain Christian and Burt Lake Christian was suspended and will be played today at a Northern Michigan site to be determined.
