The Trojans defeated three teams to clinch the outright league title, improving their season record to 43-8.

Fruitport topped Grant in the finals, 25-17, 25-23, 25-20. The Tigers upset the No. 2 seed, Spring Lake, in the semifinals, meaning the two teams finish in a tie for second-place in the final league standings.

The Trojans also defeated Tri-County in a sweep (25-11, 25-8, 25-8), and then needed four games to polish off Fremont (25-18, 18-25, 25-19, 25-18).

Trojans’ senior setter Lauren Hazekamp again proved she’s a candidate for Miss Volleyball in the state, as she flourished in several areas on Saturday. She led Fruitport in assists (76), service points (50), aces (10), and also contributed 19 kills and 27 digs.
