Trojans’ Lauren Hazekamp, Bre Geile, Amber Carmean and Brandie Jones were each named to all-state teams in Class B, as selected by the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association.

Hazekamp, a senior setter, and Geile, a senior outside hitter, each earned first-team honors.

Hazekamp topped the 1,000-assist mark this season for the Trojans, while leading her team to a 50-8 overall record. She was also one of West Michigan’s best servers, totaling nearly 300 service points and over 90 aces this season.

A four-year standout at the varsity level, Hazekamp will continue her volleyball career at Hope College next fall.

Geile totaled over 400 kills during the season, but was a rare outside hitter who also excelled in the back row with her strong defense.

Defense was the forte for senior libero Amber Carmean, a second-team honoree. She led the Trojans in digs and also totaled nearly 250 service points.

Jones was a third-team pick, after totaling more than 250 kills from her outside hitter position.

Grand Haven had a pair of all-state selections in junior Abby Cole and senior Kristen Reeners. Cole, a 6-foot-5 middle hitter, was near the top of the leaderboard in the state in both kills and blocks, totaling 632 and 204, respectively. She was named to the second-team in Class A, a year after earning third-team all-state honors for the Bucs.

Reenders, who will continue to play the sport at Central Michigan University next fall, totaled 553 digs for the Bucs and served at a 94 percent success rate, with 93 aces. She earned third-team honors in Class A.
