Cotter, a 6-foot, 2-inch, 175-pound wide receiver, finished with 62 catches for 1,099 yards and 14 touchdowns during his senior season.

Cotter added 31 unassisted tackles, two interceptions and six pass deflections as a defensive back, and returned seven punts for 67 yards.

Cotter was also named first-team all-state by the Associated Press.

The other Detroit News Dream Team receiver was Grand Blanc’s Jordan Fields, who had 67 catches for 1,088 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Rockford offensive lineman Ben Braden was also a Dream Team selection by the Detroit News.

Cotter’s Grand Haven teammates quarterback Scott Staal and running back Dakota Smith were honorable mentions on the Detroit News Div. 1-2 all-state team.

The trio helped lead the Buccaneers to an 8-2 season — their third consecutive eight-plus-win campaign. Grand Haven scored a school-record 347 points this fall.
