The Buccaneers scored a hard-fought 47-26 win over Wyoming Rogers, then dominateed Grand Rapids Union, 81-0.

Camden Bertucci, Eric VanHorssen, Josh Juchartz, Evan Johnson, Allen Torres, Luke Averill, Abraham Westerman, Connor Moynihan, Gerrett Kelly and Norris Ellis each went 2-0 on the night for the Bucs.

Grand Haven will compate in the Lansing Eastern Invitational on Saturday.

LAKERS GO 1-1

Spring Lake’s wrestlers opened the season with a 48-15 loss to Shelby, then bounced back with a 48-27 win over Mona Shores.

“All in all, I thought the boys wrestled well for the first night,” coach Dan Robinson said. “The score against Shelby wasn’t indicative of how we wrestled. We had to forfeit two weights, so in the 12 matches we wrestled, we won five of them.

“We just need to continue to improve and not settle.”
