Haven girls sink Sailors

Grand Haven shook off a lethargic first half against host Mona Shores on Friday and cruised to its third victory of the season, 57-25.

“It ended a lot better than we started,” said Grand Haven coach Katie Kowalczyk-Fulmer.

Turnovers and an inability to take advantage of their size advantage over the Sailors frustrated the Bucs throughout the first half, as they held just a 22-12 lead at the half.

The Sailors opened the third quarter with a 3-pointer to draw within seven, but it was all Grand Haven from that point.
