As a result, he’ll take home $1,000 — not a bad early birthday present for DeJonge, who will turn 12 years old on Friday.

The White Pines Middle School student is a big New England Patriots fan and he correctly picked their game against Washington correct, as well as the rest of the NFL games during Week 14. DeJonge was one of two contestants who recorded perfect scores of 136 points, but he came out on top due to being  only three points off on his Tiebreaker 1 — the total points scored in the Kansas City game.

DeJonge entered the Power Points contest through the Grand Haven Tribune. As the local winner, he also receives an additional $50. He’s the first-ever contestant in the Tribune to score a perfect week.
