JV, freshmen roundup: Warber helps SL JV clip Cardinals

BOYS JUNIOR VARSITY Spring Lake improved to 2-0 in the Lakes Eight Conference with a 51-39 win over Orchard View on Thursday. Charlie Warber led the Lakers with 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Mark Williamson added 11 points, and Jake Deering scored four and played a strong game defensively.

The Lakers fell short against Orchard View on Thursday, 42-30. Zack Montgomery had 12 points for the Lakers (1-1) while Joe Czajka added six rebounds and Kaden Kendall had three steals.

Spring Lake pounded Orchard View, 34-13, improving to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in league games. Meghan Leete had eight points and five rebounds, while Courtney Kyser added seven points, four boards and two steals.

Fruitport came up short against Ludington, losing 39-26. The Trojans are now 4-2 overall and 1-2 in Lakes Eight action. Francesca Cerniglia had 10 points, eight rebounds and six steals for the Trojans. Haylie Hanks had eight points, and Janelle Vest chipped in with seven rebounds.
