Haven boys JV basketball remains unbeaten

Boys Junior Varsity Grand Haven (5-0, 1-0 O-K Red) pulled out a 54-50 win over East Kentwood on Tuesday, as David Zuidema sank 5-of-6 free throws over the final 1 1/2 minutes to seal the game for the Bucs. Marcus Tumblin scored 11 points to lead Grand Haven. Korey Searle added 10 points and three assists, and Connor Grimes had nine points and five rebounds. Freshmen

Grand Haven was dealt a 72-42 loss by East Kentwood on Wednesday. Noah Lein scored 10 points for the Bucs and Cam Shelton added 12 points and three steals. Thompson McWaters hauled down six rebounds and Riley Taylor grabbed five.

Undefeated WMC needed overtime to defeat rival Muskegon Catholic Central on Wednesday, 50-49. The Warriors (4-0 overall) received 13 points from Devin Eekhoff and 11 points from Tully Groenendyk. Riley Arkema also hit a pair of key 3-pointers down the stretch.

Grand Haven lost a tight contest to Calvin Christian on Tuesday, 31-29, despite 18 points from Amy Kober. Aly Donselar contributed five points for the Bucs, as they fall to 5-1 overall.
