GH hockey club has unbeaten weekend

The Grand Haven Bucs' hockey club scored a pair of victories over the weekend.

On Sunday, the Bucs came from behind to win at Cedar Rock, 3-2.

Andrew LaFrance, Spencer Paarlberg and Lucas VanHeest scored goals for the Bucs, while assists were provided by Adam Carlisle, Joel Palmateer and Cole Carlson.

Zac Hansen stopped 15 of the 17 shots he faced in goal, while the Bucs fired 44 shots on their opponents’ net.

On Saturday, the Bucs beat Grand Valley Blue, 6-3. Carlisle, Brandt VanHeest and Lucas VanHeest scored single goals while Cole Carlson had a hat trick.

Palmateer and James Calkins each had two assists while Ryan Christiansen, LaFrance, Lucas VanHeest and Steven Dara added single assists.

Ryan Henning was in goal for the Bucs, making 14 saves on 17 shots. Grand Haven, which is now 6-2-1 on the season, had 32 shots.
