The total set a record for blocked shots in a game at DeVos. Hope College does not recognize a single-season blocked shots school record, according to sports information director Tom Renner. Renner said the program did not begin tracking blocked shots in a game until the past 10 years or so. However, Renner said he’s been around the program a long time and does not remember another Hope player coming close to nine blocks in a game.

The 6-foot-10 sophomore center also totaled 10 points, six rebounds and three assists in 31 minutes of action for the Flying Dutchmen, who improve to 12-1 overall and 2-0 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association standings.
