JV, Freshmen roundup: Haven girls JV remains unbeaten

BOYS JUNIOR VARSITY Grand Haven suffered a 57-50 loss at the hands of Rockford. Isaac Newhouse had 10 points while Connor Grimes scored 10 to go wtih seven rebounds. Marcus Tumblin pulled down 10 boards for the Bucs.

Grand Haven held off Rockford, winning 45-33 behind 20 points, six rebounds and three assists from Noah Lein. Josh Snively added 11 points and six rebounds, while Nic Holwerda had eight points four boards and three steals.
Spring Lake pulled away from Tri-County, winning 48-38. Chris Boychuck finished with 14 points and four blocks for the Lakers (2-2). Hunter Moe had eight points and two steals, while Zach Montgomery had eight points and six rebounds.
Grand Haven scored a 40-28 win over Rockford to remain undefeated on the season at 8-0. Amanda Merz scored 13 points to go with five rebounds. Krysteena Davis added nine points, eight rebounds and four blocks, while Mallory Beswick had five rebounds and seven steals.
Spring Lake edged Tri-County, 32-24. Courntey Kyser sparked the Lakers with 13 points and six rebounds, while Meghan Leete added eight points, seven rebounds, a steal and an assist.
Fruitport scored a 30-20 win over Grant thanks to an outstanding defensive effort, holding the Tigers to just four points after halftime. Allison Beckwith led the Trojans with nine points and six rebounds. Francesca Cerniglia added 12 rebounds.
Grand Haven (6-2, 2-1 O-K Red) suffered a 32-22 setback to Rockford on Tuesday. Amy Kober had six points and seven rebounds for the Bucs.
Western Michigan Christian knocked off Fruitport, 32-20, behind eight points and seven steals from Justice Cunningham. Ally Zuidema added six points, and Melanie Weesies grabbed 11 rebounds.
