Sailors sink WMC boys basketball

A slow start by host Western Michigan Christian and a hot third quarter by Mona Shores was too march for the Warriors to overcome Saturday night and they dropped a 58-48 decision to the neighboring Sailors.

The Warriors, now 5-9 on the season, could only muster up four points the first quarter and trailed 10-4 at the first stop, 25-19 at intermission, but got outscored the third quarter 20-11 and trailed 45-30 going into the final period.

Juniors Henry DeKam and Collin Adams led the way for WMC with 17 and 11 points respectively.

Junior Varsity: The Warriors dropped a 45-36 decision to the visiting Sailors. Freshman Logan Waller led WMC with 14 points while Chaise Schuitema added eight points, nine rebounds and five assists. Freshman Sam Bekins added six points.

Freshmen: WMC brought its season record to 12-1 with a come-from-behind 27-25 win over the Sailors. Devin Eekhoff tossed in 10 points while Tully Groenendyk and Jacob Ray each added six.
