Rivals Spring Lake and Fruitport face off in tonight’s opening round in the Class B tournament. The two rivals have played a pair of riveting games already this winter, and both have put together outstanding seasons.

Spring Lake enters district play with a 17-3 mark and a second-place finish in the Lakes Eight Conference while Fruitport sits at 13-7.

The Lakers and the Trojans face off at Fruitport tonight at 7:30 p.m. The winner gets a date with Oakridge on Wednesday. The Eagles boast an impressive 18-2 record, but the telling fact is who those two losses came against: Fruitport, which beat Oakridge 37-28 back on Dec. 6; and Muskegon Heights, which is also in the Fruitport district and knocked off the Eagles 44-37 on Dec. 28.
