The Bucs had a strong showing in the slalom, placing fourth, before slipping to seventh in the giant slalom.

“We had a great season, very successful,” said coach Derek Warner. “The girls were conference champions in the Greater Grand Rapids Ski Conference and advanced to the MHSAA finals for the first time in school history.

“The team is graduating four seniors who have provided consistent leadership and dedication this year.”

That group of seniors includes Paige Reierson, Hannah Rymal, Claire Pepper and Allison Price.

Buccaneers’ senior Brittney Olds was the top performer on Monday. She placed 15th overall in the giant slalom with runs of 27.53 and 28.23 seconds for a total time of 55.76 seconds. She was even better in the slalom, finishing ninth overall with runs of 39.96 and 38.64 seconds for a combined time of 1 minute, 18.60 seconds.
