The Michigan squad went 2-0 at the finals, scoring a 2-1 win over Tennessee on March 9, then blanking Virginia, 1-0, on March 11.

In the championship game, Dalton Amez of Chippewa Valley scored the game-winner on a 25-yard shot.

Other West Michigan team members are Eli Appleby of Rockford, Ryan Scott of Forest Hills Eastern, and Ryan Selk of Jenison.

The team is coached by Nick Deren.

Bennick helped Grand Haven’s varsity boys soccer team advance to the Division 1 state championship game this past fall.
