Trailing 6-2 in the third inning, a line drive knocked Teeter out of the game. Fruitport proceeded to score 14 more runs in a 20-2 victory.

Johanna Boeve, Kassidy Arkema, Sweetman and Ariana Brondyke all had hits for WMC. Anna Zeerip and Sweetman both had RBIs.

LAKERS SWEEP EGR

All 14 Spring Lake players started at least one half of Wednesday’s doubleheader against East Grand Rapids, and all 14 players scored at least one run as the Lakers swept both games from the Pioneers.

In the opener, Spring Lake won 18-3 in six innings. Cassie Apple earned her first win of the year, striking out four, walking three and giving up six hits.

Apple also wielded a hot bat as she had two hits and two RBIs.

Evie Loromer had three hits — a double and two triples — and drove in three. Shelby Robinson added two hits for the Lakers.

In Game 2, Spring Lake coasted to a 14-0 win in five innings.
