Baseball roundup: Buccaneers' hitters unleash on OV

The game was close through three innings, with the host Bucs leading 4-2, but five runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth gave Grand Haven the easy victory.

Cody Sutton earned the win on the mound. He threw just 50 pitches in the five-inning contest, 35 of which were strikes. He allowed six hits and no walks while striking out a pair.

Matt Kroll and Zelenka each scored two runs for the Bucs, while Adam Krizan came around to score twice.

Zelenka, Cotter and VanWieren each had two hits for the Bucs, who host Rockford today.

Cody Jonas and Matt Kroll made several nice plays defensively.

TROJANS TOP WARRIORS

Host WMC baseball team lost 16-3 Wednesday to Fruitport in a game that lasted just five innings.

Matt Wisen had two base hits and scored a run while Logan Waller had a base hit and a sacrifice RBI fly for WMC.

Christian Brower had a sacrifice RBI while Tim Schuitema and Bailey Heykoop each had singles.

"I know score looks pretty lopsided, but we had a lot of positive things in this game to continue to build on," WMC coach Darin Waller said.
