GH 11-year-old wins 10K at Fruitport Old Fashioned Days Run

Fruitport resident Richard Przybylek, 35, was the top overall finisher out of more than 280 5K runners during Saturday's 31st annual Fruitport Old Fashioned Days 5K/10K Run.

Przybylek completed the 5K course, which started at Fruitport High School and sent runners through the hilly terrain of the village in 17 minutes, 24.5 seconds. He beat out Fremont’s Rob Slate by nearly 15 seconds.

The top female finisher in the 5K was Muskegon’s Avery Lowe, who finished in 20:36.4.

In the 10K, 11-year-old Gabby Hentemann of Grand Haven was the top female finisher, as she crossed the finish line in 43:48.1. The top male runner was Whitehall’s Matt Kring, who won in 35:39.8. There were a total of 50 runners who completed the 10K course.

The event was sponsored by the Fruitport Lions Club.
