Prep roundup: Fruitport tennis' Bowen wins flight championship

Alex Bowen was crowned flight champion at No. 1 singles, helping the Fruitport varsity boys tennis team place tied for third in their home four-team invitational on Tuesday.

Bowen defeated WMC’s Chad Beisel in the finals at No. 1 singles.

Kenowa Hills took first place in the event with 18 points. They Knights won at No. 2, 3 and 4 singles and at No. 1, 2 and 3 doubles.

Fruitport’s Josh Davis and Derrick Sircher were runners-up at first doubles.

WMC’s Noah Pirrotta took second at second singles, while teammates Nick Lundholm and Cedrick DeVries were runners-up at second doubles.
