The Buccaneers got on the board first when Willie Bennick scored on a quick restart while the GRC goalie was busy trying to set up a wall.

The Bucs made it 2-0 when Bennick’s corner kick made it through a crowd and ended up on the foot of Mike Moran, who knocked it home.

Grand Rapids Christian tied the game at 2-2 with a pair of second half goals, but the Bucs responded. Hector Chavez sent a ball across and Derek Braak hit a sliding header into the net for the victory.

Corey Vanderlaan was in goal for Grand Haven, which is now 4-1 on the year.

RAMS EDGE TROJANS

Rockford scored on a diving header early in the game and held on for a 1-0 victory over visiting Fruitport on Thursday.

Rockford held a 12-2 advantage in shots, but Trojans’ coach Greg Kobylak said that number doesn’t accurately reflect how the game was played.
