Fehler leads unbeaten Fruitport over Tri-County

Tyler Fehler threw a touchdown pass and rushed for 90 yards and two scores, leading Fruitport to an impressive 42-6 Lakes Eight Conference victory against host Tri-County on Friday.

Fehler, the Trojans’ senior quarterback, completed 11-of-17 passes for 116 yards.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Trojans put 35 points on the board in the second, igniting the rout.

Senior running back Dakota Gordon added two rushing touchdowns for the Trojans, who improve to 4-0 overall and sit a half game ahead of Grant in first-place in the Lakes Eight with a 3-0 record.

Scoring receiving touchdowns for Fruitport were Shawn Knox and Aaron Veihl. Knox grabbed five balls for 91 yards and Veihl hauled in five passes for 82 yards.

Defensively, Fruitport held the host Vikings to just 142 total yards of offense.
